Miami Beach – The Miami Highlight
Miami Beach, often mistaken as a beach situated in the city of Miami, is actually independent town. Found straight across the Biscayane Bay from Miami, the bay actually is the only thing separating these two places. Having overall population around 90,000 this small city is habited with half of foreign-born individuals. The luxurious and wild lifestyle, hotels, restaurants, clubs and other venues attract a lot of fortune seekers and talented minds as well as tourists with high standards.
Miami Beach, as the name itself gives a clue, concentrates onto a small island with a stunning white sand beach and clear turquoise water. It has been the most recognized and valued beach resort in the States for over a century. Beautiful Art Deco Historic District has been marked into the National Register of Historic Places. It concentrates world’s largest collection of Art Deco buildings including Mediterranean, Streamline Modern and good old Art Deco itself, mainly built between 1923 and 1943 as hotels, apartments and other facilities.
One of the most popular beaches in whole Miami is located in the southern area of Miami Beach, called as the South Beach or shortly, SoBe. Before the famous TV show Miami Vice the area was dangerous and violent with vacant houses and high rate of crime. Today’s changes include the ability to sunbathe topless on certain areas of the beach or just the fact that the whole South Beach is considered as the richest district of the whole Miami.
For a walk or cycle, tasting the delightful food or a sight of high fashion, art and design, Lincoln Road is a perfect boulevard since there are many opportunities to walk, take a bicycle or rollerblade ride or visit one of the fine restaurants, galleries, boutique shops and other venues.
